Ellese Nickles, DPT, E-RYT, RPYT, DN-1, PCES
Ellese Nickles is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, who specializes in treating women during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from UNC in 2016 and has practiced in outpatient orthopedics, pelvic health physical therapy and early intervention with children 0-3 years old. In addition to her career in physical therapy Ellese has experience in personal training, group fitness and teaching yoga and combines these skills with her clinical expertise to holistically help women navigate motherhood.
Since the birth of her first child, Ellese has become even more passionate about addressing the gaps in our healthcare system in caring for pregnant people and new mothers. Seeing the difficulty women have in accessing quality care and prioritizing their pelvic health needs during pregnancy and postpartum, Ellese established Bloom Physical Therapy and Wellness and began working with women all over the world virtually. Through her online platform Ellese is able to support women in overcoming common issues affecting perinatal populations include back and hip pain, urinary incontinence, pain with intercourses, urinary urgency and prolapse without having to leave their homes. By working in a virtual coaching model, Ellese is able to meet mothers where they are, reducing common barriers to seeking care including time restraints, childcare needs, and scheduling difficulties. Within this model mothers find more consistency, support, accountability and success! She is committed to offering birthing people the support they need to reach optimal health and wellbeing as they navigate each transformational stage of pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience and truly loves seeing the meaningful life changing progress her client’s make.
When not working in clinic or with Bloom Physical Therapy she enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her partner, Blake, two boys Elliott and Arlo, and sweet pup Violet.
